Individual Membership:<\/b><\/p>\r\n

All persons racing in any sanctioned event must be active and paying members of the US Class Association. Dues are $50 per person per annum and apply to the calendar year (Jan 1 to Dec 31). Membership applies to both the helm and crew, not just the helm\/owner of the boat. Membership is attached to the individual no matter their sailing partner(s). To reiterate, in order to compete in the US Nationals, North Americans, Miami Sailing World Cup, and Oakcliff Triple-Crown, you must be a member of the class association.<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n

Boat\u00a0Registration:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

All racing boats must be registered to the class. New-builds or old, it doesn’t matter. If you own multiple boats, but only intend to race one, you must still register all of your boats. This is a one-time fee of $55. Once registered, you will be issued an official sail number. Please read more under the Sail Number<\/strong><\/a> and Boat Registration<\/strong><\/a> sections of this website.<\/p>\r\n

Coach Membership:<\/b><\/p>\r\n

Any coach who is supporting at a class sanctioned event must join the US 470 Class. Dues are $150 per annum per person.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

WAIT! So,\u00a0I’m\u00a0confused….what\u00a0are\u00a0all\u00a0the\u00a0things\u00a0I\u00a0must\u00a0do?<\/strong>
Okay, it might all sound complicated, but it really isn’t. And, we – the USA 470 Class Association – are here to help.<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n

Step 1)<\/em><\/strong> Make sure you and your teammate are members of the class ($50 x 2 persons). This is only good Jan-1 to Dec-31 of a given year. If, for example, you like to pay in December, we’ll assume it’s crediting the following calendar year. Don’t worry. Make sure to register separately so that we credit the member\u2019s name and email.<\/em><\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n

Step 2)<\/em><\/strong> Make sure your boat is <\/em>registered<\/em><\/strong><\/a> with the class and paid for ($55). Unless your boat is new or \u201cnew to the USA,\u201d it\u2019s entirely possible you don\u2019t need to register. If you\u2019re not sure what your boat\u2019s status is, email us at info@470usa.org. See this website\u2019s page on registering boats.<\/em><\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n

Step 3)<\/em><\/strong> Make sure you have a <\/em>measurement certificate<\/em><\/strong><\/a> from the builder (such as Mackay Boats). <\/em><\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n

Step 4)<\/em><\/strong> Make sure you have been allocated a <\/em>USA sail number<\/em><\/strong><\/a> from the USA 470 Class Association. The USA class will give you new pages #1 and #2 for your measurement certificate.<\/em><\/p>\r\n
